Dr. Mayr graduated with a degree in physics from the University of Cologne and received a PhD at the Institute for Solid State Physics Research at the Nuclear Research Centre in Jülich under Prof. Dr. Peter Grünberg, a subsequent Nobel prize laureate.

He focuses on drafting, filing and prosecution of patents, utility models, trademarks and designs as well as opposition proceedings and cancellation and invalidation proceedings before the German Patent- and Trademark Office, European Patent Office (EPO), World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) and the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). Dr. Mayr also specialises in complex litigation procedures (nullification actions, infringement proceedings) before the relevant courts (German Federal Patent Court, District Court, Regional Appeal Court, Federal Supreme Court, European Court of Justice). He advises on agreements and License agreements.
